In the year marking the 120th anniversary of his birth, the Bonhoeffer House will host music that Dietrich came to know and appreciate during the various stages of his life. The October “Teatime” event will feature Spanish music, evoking the time the young Bonhoeffer spent in Spain: In 1928, Dietrich served as a foreign vicar at a German Protestant congregation in Barcelona, where he became a member of a choral society, among other activities.

Member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin. Recitals, church music, educational projects for children and young people, as well as CD and radio recordings are part of her diverse career as a soloist. - Philip Mayers, piano:
An internationally sought-after lieder accompanist, soloist, and chamber music partner. Mayers has made a name for himself as an arranger, composer, conductor, and coach. In Berlin, he performs regularly with the RIAS Chamber Choir and the Berlin Radio Choir.
The program features music by Enrique Granados, Manuel de Falla, Eduardo Toldrá, Federico García Lorca, Jesús Guridi, and Catalan folk songs.
Christine Lichtenberg travels to Spain regularly and is an expert on the country’s music and literature. For her thesis on 20th-century Spanish art songs, she conducted research in Granada and Cádiz, among other places.
