testamentary dispositions

Leaving a lasting mark

Leaving a testamentary disposition to Bonhoeffer House is a way to assume social responsibility beyond your own lifetime and pass on the values of humanity, faith, and civil courage.

What is a testamentary disposition?

Under German law a testamentary disposition is a form of legacy and a bequest made to an organization or individual in a will without the person being appointed as heir. A testamentary disposition can consist of a sum of money, but also tangible assets such as real estate, works of art or securities.

Making a bequest

If you would like to include the Bonhoeffer House in your will, you will need the following information for notarial processing:

  • Association: Erinnerungs- und Begegnungsstaette e.V.
  • Adress: Marienburger Allee 43, 14055 Berlin
  • Register of associations: Charlottenburg Local Court, VR 35816 B

For a confidential discussion, please contact the board or the management of the association.

Please seek legal advice

Wills drawn up abroad are almost always recognized in Germany, provided that they comply with the Convention on the Conflicts of Laws Relating to the Form of Testamentary Dispositions (The Hague the 5th October 1961).

However, e.g. trusts or legacies can cause problems, especially if they do not comply with the form of a will.
Please consult your notary and lawyer for legally binding details.
