The house is open for visits every Saturday.
We warmly invite you to an open guided tour:

  • at 10 am in German
  • at 11 am in English

Donation instead of admission

Admission is free, a donation is requested.

The Bonhoeffer House is run on a voluntary basis and relies on donations. You can make your donation on site in cash, via BetterPlace or via the donation account of the supporting association. 5-10 € per person is recommended – higher amounts of your choosing is much appreciated.

Please do not get confused by the Hotel “Dietrich Bonhoeffer Haus” in the center of Berlin, which is not an historical site associated with Bonhoeffer’s life and is about 40 minutes away by train.

Arrival by public transportation

The Bonhoeffer House is located in a small cul-de-sac approx. 700m walking distance from the nearest S-Bahn station Heerstrasse.

You can reach S Heerstrasse via:

  • S-Bahn lines: S3, S9
  • Bus lines: M49, X34, X49, 218, 349

Arrival by bike or car/coach

There is limited free parking available along Marienburger Allee. For coaches, we recommend the nearby Momsen Stadium parking lot (follow local signs).

Challenges

The Bonhoeffer House is a typical residential building from the 1930s.
The entrance to the house can be reached via three steps. There is a handrail and a mobile ramp if required.
The sanitary facilities are in the basement and can only be reached via stairs.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s former study is located on the top floor and can only be reached via stair. 
A small checkroom is available for individual visitors. No liability is assumed.
